Future Knight Launches On Xbox With Classic LCD Handheld Inspiration

Aeternum Game Studios has announced that Future Knight has officially released on Xbox. The 2D action shoot 'em up is inspired by classic electronic handheld games, featuring an LCD visual aesthetic designed to evoke nostalgic pocket screens and beeps from childhood.

In Future Knight, players control a robot on a mission to save humanity's memory. The setting takes place inside the technology of a calculator and a liquid crystal display, where every level represents a critical hour leading up to a mass memory wipe. The title features eight biomes spanning roughly eight hours of gameplay, alternating between horizontal and vertical scrolling physics. Levels range from dangerous construction sites to deadly sushi conveyor belts.

Early reception for the game varies across platforms. Sister site Nintendo Life awarded the title a "Good" 7 out of 10 rating in its review, while the Steam average stands as "Positive" with 95% favorable ratings from users. On the Xbox Store, Future Knight is available to purchase for £12.49 / $14.99 and functions on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S hardware. However, it is noted that the title is not an Xbox Play Anywhere release.
