Fortnite Sonic Hours Event Launches August 29 With Increased Spawns and New Sprites

Epic Games has launched "Sonic Hours" in Fortnite on August 29, 2026, as part of Chapter 7 Season 4 of Fortnite Override. This limited-time Power Hour event introduces boosted spawn rates for Sonic, Tails, and Shadow Sprites across the Island, alongside several event-specific chest bonuses and the debut of new Storm Scout Sprites.

The event is divided into two separate two-hour sessions on August 29. The first session begins at 11:00 AM PT / 2:00 PM ET and runs until 1:00 PM PT / 4:00 PM ET. The second session starts later that day at 6:00 PM PT / 9:00 PM ET and ends at 8:00 PM PT / 11:00 PM ET. Depending on the player's regional time zone, the second session may carry over into August 30. Both sessions offer identical bonuses, allowing players to participate in either or both windows to maximize their rewards.

During the active Sonic Hours, players will see a significant increase in the spawn rates of Sonic, Tails, and Shadow Sprites. Additionally, the event raises the drop rates of specific loot from Chests, including Mythic Sonic Power Sneakers, 1-Up Tokens, and Portable Extractors.

Sonic Hours also marks the official release of the Storm Scout Sprite, which was previously discovered in the game files by dataminers. Players can encounter three distinct tiers of this new addition: the base Storm Scout Sprite, the Cheat Master Storm Scout Sprite, and the Gold Storm Scout Sprite. When a player takes a sufficient amount of Storm damage, the Storm Scout Sprite activates to grant Overdrive and unlimited Energy. Upgrading the Sprite to higher levels increases the duration of this effect, while reaching the maximum level unlocks the ability to reveal upcoming Storm Circles.
