Survival horror title Fear The Timeloop has officially launched on Xbox Series X|S. Published by PlayWay S.A., the game drops players into the shoes of Sheriff James Cooper, who wakes up inside Saint Heritage Hospital with a severe, bleeding abdominal wound. In this title, time functions as health; if James cannot find a way to stay alive within a 15-minute window, he dies and the time loop resets back to the beginning of the current chapter.

The countdown is directly tied to survival mechanics. Blood bags, bandages, first aid kits, and other medical supplies are used not only to patch up damage from enemy attacks, but also to buy crucial extra minutes. Players must decide whether to consume supplies immediately to safely cross dangerous corridors, save them for inevitable fights, or risk precious time exploring unknown rooms. The title also features a relentless serial killer, bloodthirsty monsters, and mysterious figures surrounding the hospital who are ready to kill anyone stepping outside.

Death in Fear The Timeloop serves as a progression tool rather than just a penalty. While inventory items do not carry over between cycles, discovered notes, map data, unlocked abilities, and codes memorized by the player remain. Chapters are marked by found VHS tapes. As players progress, early frantic attempts give way to strategic navigation, allowing them to utilize previously useless notes and rethink resource management strategies across multiple cycles.

Saint Heritage Hospital was built as an interconnected space inspired by Metroidvania design. Certain routes are initially closed or unreachable, but as James unlocks new abilities and discovers alternate paths, players have reasons to revisit familiar corridors. Deputy Sheriff Rose Watters acts as James' only ally inside the facility, and through conversations and branching dialogue choices that react to early decisions, the secrets of the hospital and the events leading up to James' arrival begin to surface.

Development efforts for the Xbox release heavily emphasized optimization, cloud saves, achievements, Xbox Play Anywhere (XPA) support, and precise, natural gamepad controls designed for intense moments. The game also incorporates a flexible ability system that tailors to different playstyles. Fear The Timeloop is available now on the Xbox store for $14.99, with a promotional launch discount pricing it at $13.49.
