ESL Pro League Season 24 talent lineup announced for Katowice event

ESL has announced the talent lineup for ESL Pro League Season 24, with ten well-known figures set to bring coverage to the event in Katowice, Poland from October 3-11. The broadcast will feature Freya "Freya" Spiers and Tres "stunna" Saranthus, though ESL did not specify their individual roles in the announcement.

The full talent team includes Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill, Alex "Machine" Richardson, Janko "YNk" Paunović, Harry "JustHarry" Russell, Hugo "Hugo" Byron, Adam "Dinko" Hawthorne, Jason "moses" O'Toole and Henry "HenryG" Greer. These analysts and commentators bring extensive experience from previous esports events and the competitive Counter-Strike scene.

Season 24 represents a significant milestone for ESL Pro League. It will run entirely on LAN for the first time in the competition's history, with playoffs taking place at the Spodek Arena, a venue known for hosting IEM Katowice for many years. The shift to full LAN play required ESL to reduce the field to 16 teams.

The seeding for the event was determined through Team Selected Seeding, the same method ESL used for the previous three seasons. Under this system, each of the 16 teams ranks its opponents, and ESL averages those rankings with outliers removed to establish the seed positions. Team Vitality and Team Aurora gained the most ground compared to the Valve Regional Standings, while Spirit holds the top seed.

The tournament carries a $1,000,000 prize pool combining prize money and club rewards. Season 24 is designated as an S-Tier event and counts as a Valve Wildcard tournament. The event also contributes toward the ESL Grand Slam race, which carries its own $1,000,000 bonus pool.
