Counter-Strike is returning to one of its most iconic venues as ESL Pro League Season 24 kicks off in Katowice on October 3. The event will run through October 11, with the group stage taking place in a studio LAN environment and playoffs returning to the Spodek Arena, a venue steeped in Counter-Strike history.

ESL Pro League Season 24 will feature 16 teams competing in a Swiss Stage format, reduced from the 24 teams that participated in Season 23. The change allows the entire event to be played on LAN in Katowice. Teams will need three series wins to advance to the playoffs, while three series losses result in elimination. All matches are Best of 3 except for the Grand Final, which will be Best of 5.

The playoff bracket expands to eight teams in a single-elimination format. This represents a shift from the traditional IEM Katowice structure, which used six-team brackets. A third-place decider will take place before the Grand Final.

The $1,000,000 prize pool is largely split in favor of participating organizations rather than individual players. Organizations will receive $700,000 through Club Share, while players will receive the remaining $300,000. First place will earn $295,000 total, with $170,000 going to Club Share.

Team Spirit enter as the in-form team after back-to-back tournament victories at EWC 2026 and BLAST Porto. Team Vitality are considered top contenders, though Justinas 'jL' Lekavicius may travel with the team as Dan 'apEX' Madesclaire prepares to welcome his first child. Despite this potential roster disruption, the team's performance at StarLadder StarSeries Season 20 suggests they remain competitive.

Team Falcons, the IEM Cologne 2026 Major champions, will look to capture another title after struggling to build on that success this season. NAVI are under pressure after an early exit at StarSeries, with their ranking now vulnerable. The team must win at least four matches across Pro League and PGL Masters Bucharest to remain positioned for the PGL Singapore Major.

Aurora and MOUZ are also worth monitoring. Aurora secured their most positive result since switching to international play at StarSeries, with Finnish anchor Jimi 'Jimpphat' Salo standing out. MOUZ will look to build on their BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 win.

ESL Pro League Season 24 will be streamed through ESL's official Counter-Strike YouTube, Twitch, and Kick channels. Twitch will utilize its B stream for Group Stage matches.
