Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World Demo Available Now Across All Platforms

Square Enix has released a free consumer demo for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World across multiple platforms. Players on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam, and Xbox on PC can now download the trial ahead of the official launch.

The demo covers the opening chapter of the role-playing game. It introduces users to the cast of characters, battle systems, monster synthesis, and exploration mechanics. Up to eight monsters recruited during the demo period can be transferred over to the full game when it releases on December 3, 2026. Transferred monsters will be accessible from the depot in the final release, starting at level 1 with their default talents. However, there is no upgrade path or save data transfer between the original Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions.

Participants who play the demo will also unlock the Wrangler's Bundle for the complete game. This special bonus pack includes one Ring of Impulse, one Bonus Ball, and five Smoked Sirloin items.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World features more than 500 new and fan-favorite monsters alongside evolved graphics. The narrative centers on dual protagonists Bianca and Nera as they work to bring the world of Witherwood back to life. New players require no prior experience with earlier entries in the series to start the adventure.
