Double Fine to host Amnesia Fortnight 2026 game jam with fan voting and Kickstarter campaign
Following its split from Microsoft, Double Fine will let players vote on which concept becomes its next game through a two-week jam starting August 31.

Double Fine has announced Amnesia Fortnight 2026, a game jam where fans will vote on the studio's next project. The event runs from August 31 through most of September as a two-week affair.
During the jam, Double Fine developers will pitch and showcase early concept ideas. Players can register their interest in projects, with the selected concept being developed into what the studio describes as "a real (small) game."
The winning project will be funded through a Kickstarter campaign. Backers will also support a documentary produced by Double Fine and 2 Player Productions covering the game jam.
The announcement comes after Double Fine split from Microsoft earlier this year. The studio had faced significant restructuring when Xbox underwent major changes, leading to layoffs of over 20 staff members as part of the transition to independence. Amnesia Fortnight 2026 represents the studio's first major initiative since regaining independence.
