Valve has released a significant Counter-Strike 2 update introducing Rush, a new fast-paced 3v3 game mode that marks a departure from the game's traditional team structures.

Rush is a queued mode drawn from a rotating pool of 15 maps. Each match selects seven maps from that pool, with one neutral map where the game begins. The mode uses a tug-of-war scoring system that pushes a central tower toward the losing team's side each round, creating dynamic gameplay centered around map control.

The update also fundamentally changes how Premier works. The competitive mode's previous map-ban process has been replaced with a pick-based system, giving players more direct control over which maps appear in their matches.

Beyond the new mode and Premier changes, the patch includes several quality-of-life improvements. Players can now perform silent reloads, though they take longer than standard reloads. Crosshairs are now resolution-independent, and Valve has introduced a new "Dynamic Quad" as the default crosshair option. The update also addresses a handful of bugs affecting gameplay.
