CS2 August 20 Update Fixes Player Speed Bug and Refreshes Community Maps

Valve has released a new update for Counter-Strike 2, addressing a player speed bug and updating the Boulder and Poseidon community maps.

Valve has deployed a new update for Counter-Strike 2, bringing a few targeted adjustments to the tactical shooter. While the patch is relatively small and omits major gameplay overhauls or anti-cheat updates that sections of the community have requested, it addresses a specific movement exploit alongside workshop map refreshes.

The primary gameplay fix in the August 20 patch targets a player speed bug. Previously, players could achieve an unintended velocity boost by moving directly against walls, a behavior that has now been resolved by Valve to ensure standard movement parity across matches.

In addition to the movement fix, the update focuses on community map maintenance. Both Boulder and Poseidon—which were originally integrated into the game at the start of Premier Season 5—have been updated to incorporate the latest versions available from the Community Workshop. These revisions are intended to deliver further polish and iron out lingering bugs on both battlegrounds.

Players will receive the patch automatically through the Steam client the next time they launch the game. Although the update leaves broader gameplay systems untouched, these adjustments provide immediate relief for the wall-movement exploit and keep the active community map pool aligned with their latest workshop iterations.
