Crimson Desert DLC Charting the Unknown delayed two weeks for polish
Pearl Abyss pushes back the Crimson Desert expansion to October 29, 2026, citing the need for additional development time to deliver a more stable experience.
Pearl Abyss has delayed Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown, the upcoming DLC expansion for its open-world action game. The expansion was originally scheduled for October 15, 2026, but will now release on October 29, 2026.
The developer announced the two-week delay on Twitter on September 30, 2026. "We are hard at work on Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown to bring you new adventures to Pywel," Pearl Abyss stated. "We have determined that we need additional development time to deliver a more polished and stable gameplay experience."
Pearl Abyss acknowledged player anticipation for the expansion. "We know many of you have been looking forward to returning to the game and we sincerely apologize for the longer wait," the studio said. The developer promised to "use the additional time to further refine the content and do our utmost to deliver the best experience we can."
Crimson Desert launched to significant commercial success earlier in 2026. The expansion was confirmed in June and officially announced at PlayStation State of Play with an October 15 target. The delay moves the DLC away from a crowded release window that included titles like Castlevania: Belmont's Curse and the Switch 2 versions of the Resident Evil Remake trilogy, though it now releases alongside Phantom Blade Zero and Hello Kitty Party Land.
