Sega revealed a Japan map for Crazy Taxi: World Tour at Tokyo Game Show, playable for attendees to experience firsthand. The region includes recognizable Tokyo locations such as Tokyo Tower, Mt. Fuji visible in the distance, and Shibuya Crossing, where a Sega building appears in-game.

The Japan map features Japanese music and culturally themed passenger requests. NPCs wear traditional robes and ask players to complete tasks like transporting a baseball player. Challenge modes include time trials requiring players to hit checkpoints before time expires, and pizza delivery runs where collisions with the environment cause cargo loss.

The game emphasizes its "world" concept with distinct regional locations. Players accumulate miles on an in-game odometer as they explore different areas. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is scheduled to release in 2027.
