College Football 27 Title Update 5 Adds Ballhawk Strafe and Fixes Safety Ruling Bug

College Football 27 received Title Update 5 on October 1, 2026, bringing defensive improvements and bug fixes as the season moves into October. The headlining addition gives players the ability to strafe while using Ballhawk, expanding defensive movement options when attempting to make plays on the ball.

The update addresses several gameplay issues that have affected player experience. A particularly unusual bug where interceptions caught near and carried into the endzone would be incorrectly ruled as safeties has been fixed. EA Sports also resolved problems with quarterback slides near the first down line, where quarterbacks would perform a super dive instead of sliding properly. Additionally, the defensive line was auto pinching or spreading when players audibled in or out of QB sneak plays, which has now been corrected.

Title Update 5 includes substantial fixes across multiple game modes. In Dynasty, Coach Goals that award Dynasty Points now correctly grant those points during the End of Season Recap. The warning popup when firing a staff member has been updated to accurately account for Dynasty Points refunded from the firing. Coach Points awarded after contract extensions are now granted in multiples of five, as intended.

Road to Glory improvements include fixes to the Post-Game Stats screen, which could display a Please Wait message when viewing stats. The Defensive Coordinator at North Carolina has been updated, and the William V. Campbell Trophy was missing its icon, which has been restored.

Ultimate Team received numerous quality-of-life fixes. Issues with player Archetype upgrades, EVO applications, and item favoriting have been addressed. The back of Ultimate Team player items now correctly displays the player's position and jersey number. Online Head-to-Head uniforms now properly use the uniforms selected in Advanced Settings instead of defaulting to standard uniforms.

As is standard with College Football 27 updates, Title Update 5 includes new uniform and helmet options for 15 schools. Air Force, Arizona State, Cal, Duke, FIU, Fresno State, Iowa, Marshall, Minnesota, Navy, Oregon, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Utah State, and Wake Forest all received new looks. These range from throwback uniforms to 2026 updates and special edition options.

Additional fixes in the update address presentation and audio issues. A distortion problem affecting crowds and crowd chants on PS5 has been fixed. Text-based content updates were made throughout the EA SPORTS Network, and several interface freezes in specific scenarios have been resolved.
