Türkiye's independent game developers are making a notable push into PC gaming. Bombanana!, a three-player co-op party game developed by Lefto Studio and published by Tark Games, surpassed one million copies sold within its first ten days on Steam.

The game's launch capped an unusually strong pre-release run. It accumulated over one million Steam wishlists and attracted more than six million demo players worldwide before release. Bombanana! marks the first title from Tark Games, Türkiye's first VC-backed independent PC and console publisher. Founded in Istanbul in 2025 with backing from Ludus Ventures, the company was established with an international publishing mandate rather than focusing exclusively on Turkish studios.

Bombanana! is built around a communication-driven premise. Three players take on the roles of monkeys who are blind, deaf, and mute, with each player holding only part of the information required to defuse a bomb. The game creates unpredictable moments that emerge from how friends communicate and misunderstand each other while solving problems together.

Lefto Studio, which developed the game, was founded by 25-year-old Ufuk Girit. "From the beginning, we wanted to build something simple to understand but capable of creating completely different moments every time people played together," Girit said. "The response during the demo period was far beyond what we initially imagined. Seeing that translate into the launch we have had has been incredibly rewarding for a small independent team."

Bombanana!'s success adds to a growing list of Turkish indie titles finding large audiences on PC. Supermarket Simulator and Liar's Bar previously demonstrated that independent developers from Türkiye can reach global markets on non-mobile platforms. The country spent much of the past decade building a strong mobile gaming ecosystem, creating a deep pool of developers, entrepreneurs, and game-making talent that is now translating to other platforms.

Ilker Ergen, co-founder of Tark Games, views Bombanana! as an early signal of a structural shift. "Supermarket Simulator, Liar's Bar and now Bombanana! are early signals of something much bigger," he said. "There are a large number of small, highly capable teams here with the potential to build games for global audiences. We believe Türkiye can become a meaningful source of independent PC and console games over the coming years."

Tark Games currently has 10 games in its publishing pipeline, with approximately half developed by teams outside Türkiye. The publisher works with developers on financing, production, player research, marketing, and global platform management, but does not take equity in the studios it publishes. Following its Steam launch, Bombanana! is being prepared for console platforms, with a mobile release planned for October.
