Bandai Namco has delayed the opening of two retail locations planned for Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Both the Bandai Namco Cross Store and Gundam Base were scheduled to open on September 30, 2026, but the company announced a last-minute postponement without providing a revised launch date.

The Cross Store is a broader retail concept carrying merchandise from Bandai Namco's gaming and anime franchises. The Mall of America location would be the second US store, following the first opening in Brooklyn, New York at Industry City Building 4. Cross Stores stock Pac-Man merchandise, anime items including One Piece Card Game products, Gunpla model kits, Gashapon machines, and arcade cabinets.

The Gundam Base, dedicated entirely to the Gundam anime series and related games and model kits, would also be the second US location. The first Gundam Base in the United States opened in Rosemont, Illinois at Fashion Outlets of Chicago in 2025. These stores feature exclusive items available only at their locations.

Bandai Namco stated only that both locations are "postponed" with intentions to open them eventually. The company has not specified what caused the delay or when customers might expect these retail experiences to arrive at the Minneapolis mall.
