Astrae Oratio Preview Highlights Turn-Based Combat and 2027 Mobile Launch
A hands-on preview of the upcoming role-playing game Astrae Oratio at Tokyo Game Show showcased its turn-based mechanics, visual style, and plans for a 2027 mobile release followed by a PC version.

Astrae Oratio drew significant attention at this year's Tokyo Game Show, where attendees waited in long lines for a brief fifteen-minute preview of the role-playing game. The title is scheduled to launch on mobile platforms in 2027, with a PC release planned to follow at a later date. Prominent features highlighted during the demonstration include slick visuals, voiceover work, and a mixture of humor and emotional story elements.
The hands-on demo introduced players to the Magicians of Minato, a trio of young women equipped with both ranged magic attacks and close-quarters sword abilities. Players assumed control of this team in an engagement against Kujo Yuria, a warrior from Kyoto. Combat proceeds using a turn-based system where participants spend action points to plan attacks during the Active Phase before entering the Engage Phase to deal damage or switch to defense. Players must manage all three core characters while utilizing basic attacks, heavier offensive skills, ultimate abilities, counters, and parries.
In addition to active combat, the preview offered a look at story sequences presented in a visual novel style accompanied by a memorable soundtrack. These narrative elements provide insight into lead character Tanaka Erin. Following the conclusion of the playable demo, attendees were invited to sign up for an upcoming closed beta test for the game.
