Abandoned resurfaces on PS Store with 2027 release date and Prologue subtitle
Blue Box Game Studios has updated the PS Store listing for its long-dormant PS5 survival sim Abandoned, now titled Abandoned Prologue with a planned 2027 release. The project will launch in multiple formats including a realtime experience and standalone

Abandoned, the PS5 survival sim that generated significant hype before fading from public view, has resurfaced on the PlayStation Store with new assets and a 2027 release window.
The updated PS Store page now displays the title as "Abandoned Prologue" alongside new key art featuring a character not shown in previous materials. Developer Blue Box Game Studios appears to be preparing a multi-format release: a realtime experience with in-engine trailers, a standalone prologue chapter, and additional content tiers.
The project first emerged in 2021 after being highlighted on the PS Blog as a cinematic survival sim. The announcement sparked widespread speculation within the gaming community, with many players theorizing the game was secretly a Hideo Kojima production. Blue Box addressed this directly, denying any connection to the legendary developer.
Following the release of a realtime experience app and in-engine teaser trailer in 2021, interest waned considerably. The project and its developer subsequently fell into relative obscurity.
Earlier this year, assets for a game titled "Abandoned: Gospels of Blood" appeared online, though that did not result in concrete developments. The current PS Store update marks the most significant signal of activity surrounding the project in years, though whether the 2027 target materializes remains uncertain given the project's history.
