007 First Light's Switch 2 Port Delayed to March 2027 for Performance Tuning
IO Interactive has pushed the Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light to March 2027, marking the third delay for the port. The team is focusing on hitting a stable 30fps using a new rendering technique called Meshlets while preserving the core

IO Interactive has confirmed a third delay for 007 First Light's Nintendo Switch 2 port, now targeting March 2027. The PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S versions launched on May 27, 2026, while the Switch 2 edition remains without a confirmed release date within that window.
The game was originally scheduled for March 27, 2026 across all platforms before shifting to May 27. It then slipped again to the third quarter of 2026 before landing on its current March 2027 target.
Technical producer Cristina Vega told Inven Global that the latest delay stems not from unexpected technical problems, but from a combination of developer fatigue and marketing strategy. She emphasized that porting work is progressing well and entering its final performance tuning phase.
The Switch 2 version aims for a stable 30fps using Meshlets, a new rendering technique. Vega stated that the team is avoiding cuts to core gameplay systems. Enemy and NPC counts remain unchanged, with compromises limited to less critical details like distant object quality. Switch 2 lacks ray tracing support unlike the PC version, but the goal is keeping the overall experience as close to other platforms as possible.
"Ultimately, we decided on another delay because we want fans to experience the game in its most polished form on Switch 2, so we ask for your understanding," Vega said.
