Resident Evil Director Zach Cregger Would Pick Leon Kennedy as His Bodyguard

Zach Cregger, director of the upcoming Resident Evil film, has stated he would choose Leon Kennedy as his bodyguard if stuck in his own movie.

"If I was stuck in my movie and I could pick any Resident Evil character, I would bring Leon because I would just bear hug myself around him, close my eyes, and just let him protect me," Cregger said.

Leon Kennedy, the protagonist of several Resident Evil games, has become one of the franchise's most recognizable characters. The choice reflects his standing as a capable and reliable figure within the game series.

Cregger acknowledged other potential candidates from the Resident Evil universe, noting that Jill Valentine and Billy Coen would be acceptable alternatives, though he suggested the latter might be harder to recruit given his story circumstances.

The comment offers insight into how the filmmaker views the characters from the source material as he develops his film adaptation of the long-running survival horror franchise.
