Threads App Arrives on Quest Headsets and Meta Ray-Ban Display
Meta has launched the Threads application on Quest headsets and Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses alongside several other summer updates.

Meta has officially brought its social network Threads to Quest headsets and the Meta Ray-Ban Display monocular HUD glasses. The application launched on the Meta Horizon Store for Quest in early August and was set as a preinstalled app that force-downloaded to most Quest headsets. While users previously accessed the service through a web browser, the new app provides a slightly more refined design. However, many Quest owners expressed unhappiness about the application downloading automatically onto their hardware, particularly while actively playing virtual reality games.
The integration on the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses arrived in late July, following the previous release of an Instagram app. The Threads interface lets users scroll through feeds by swiping their thumb against the side of their index finger using the regular Meta Neural Band scroll gesture. Users can also like or share posts and watch videos through the simplified interface. Additionally, Meta introduced several other summer updates for its smart glasses lineup. These include an upgraded Meta AI powered by Muse Spark models, a Photo Ultra HDR feature, a dynamic photo burst mode triggered by voice command, and Instagram Instants for posting once-viewed stories.
Other additions consist of background WhatsApp group voice chats, a new Battery Saver Mode to extend runtime, and a Wi-Fi Aware feature for Early Access program participants in the United States and Canada that streamlines media auto-importing to iPhones. More feature announcements and new hardware are expected to be revealed at Meta Connect 2026 later in the month.
