Story of Seasons: Your Wonderful Life Gets VR Adaptation for Meta Quest 3
Marvelous and developer Grounding are bringing the farming life sim to VR, with a worldwide release planned for 2027. The adaptation will feature first-person and third-person perspectives depending on the activity.
Marvelous announced a VR adaptation of Story of Seasons: Your Wonderful Life coming to Meta Quest 3 and Meta VR glasses worldwide in 2027. The project is being developed by Grounding, the studio behind VR titles like Onimusha VR Shadow Team and Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash.
The VR version will shift between first-person and third-person perspectives based on what you're doing. Actions like milking cows, shearing sheep, fishing, harvesting, and visiting families play out in first-person with direct controls. Travel, planting, animal care, and moving around the town map use a third-person overhead view. Event scenes will display as 2D sequences.
The adaptation preserves the core appeal of the original: living a full life across different periods. You start by arriving in town and establishing a farm, building relationships to find a spouse. Later phases show married life and raising a child. The VR version will skip ahead to certain periods rather than simulating every moment.
The base game Story of Seasons: Your Wonderful Life is available on Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. An earlier entry in the series, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, was released on GameCube and PS2.
