Snap announced new features for its Specs AR glasses at a launch event in Los Angeles this week, including Specs Intelligence, a cross-platform AI agent designed to anticipate when help would be useful and surface relevant information without waiting for a prompt.

Specs Intelligence will work across iPhone, Mac, and Specs. The system is designed to highlight decisions and reminders before meetings, or bring together travel plans like flights and hotels while flagging conflicting work deadlines. "SPECS Intelligence is designed to anticipate when help would be useful and surface relevant information and actions without waiting for a prompt. Before a meeting, it could highlight decisions to make, questions to ask, and things to remember. For an upcoming trip, it could bring together flight, hotel, and dinner plans while flagging a work deadline that falls during the visit," Snap stated.

The public preview currently offers limited functionality. On iPhone, the US-only preview provides insights from Gmail and Google Calendar, while the fuller macOS experience is invite-only. Snap has not disclosed which AI model powers Specs Intelligence or its pricing model after the free preview ends.

Snap also introduced an optional cellular charging case available in all three launch countries. The case will cost $200 more than the standard charging case, bringing the total to $2395. Cellular connectivity will be provided through Verizon in the US ($10 per month for existing Verizon customers or $20 otherwise), EE in the UK, and Orange in France. Each carrier will offer financing options and in-store try-on experiences.

Snap will begin publicly demonstrating Specs at Westfield Century City mall in Los Angeles from October 1st through the holiday season. The $2195 Specs AR glasses remain set to launch this fall in the US, UK, and France, though Snap has not announced a specific shipping date. The device is positioned as the first fully standalone true AR glasses available outside China.
