Rocket League Bans kofyr Until End of 2027 Over Sexual Assault Allegations
Psyonix has suspended pro player Angel 'kofyr' Lopez from all competitive Rocket League play through 2027 following allegations of inappropriate conduct at the 2026 World Championship after-party.

Psyonix has banned Angel 'kofyr' Lopez from all Rocket League Championship Series tournaments and Psyonix-affiliated competitions until the end of 2027. The suspension follows allegations that the player engaged in sexual assault and sexist remarks at the Rocket League World Championship 2026 after-party.
The ban relates to violations of Code of Conduct section 7.1.3 in the Rocket League Championship Series 2026 Season Official Rulebook. That section prohibits players from engaging in conduct that is disruptive, unsafe, destructive or harmful to the enjoyment of Rocket League, including harassment, disrespectful conduct, abusive language and unlawful activity.
Rocket League streamer Bailey 'bails' Ryanne, who attended the World Championship and after-party, described witnessing inappropriate behavior. In a stream shared on social media, she alleged that a North American pro player who was underage had touched multiple women at the event. Community members quickly identified the player as kofyr, who is under the legal drinking age in Fort Worth, Texas, where the World Championship took place.
Karmine Corp player Tristan 'Atow.' Soyez added further allegations on social media, claiming kofyr made sexist remarks while intoxicated to his girlfriend. "24/7 drunk, lacking respect, saying sexist things to my girlfriend, i think i will believe the story," Atow wrote on X.
The suspension means kofyr will remain ineligible for competitive play until at least 2028. He was released by Shopify Rebellion on September 25 and is currently a free agent.
The ban has generated mixed responses within the Rocket League community. Some players and fans have voiced support for Psyonix's action, while others have questioned whether the punishment is sufficient, with some calling for a permanent ban instead.
