Proposed Class Action Lawsuit Demands Logitech Refund Customers $61 Million Tariff Payout

A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Logitech, attempting to recover funds that were allegedly taken from American consumers due to past tariffs. The complaint was filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division, led by SJK Development, a construction company, and a California resident who reported purchasing Logitech mice at higher prices affected by tariffs.

According to the legal filing, Logitech raised prices across its product catalog to account for tariff costs but did not return the proceeds after the US Supreme Court declared those tariffs unlawful. The filing highlights earnings calls where Logitech executives discussed higher prices and profits offsetting tariffs. Specifically, the complaint cites statements from CFO Mr. Anversa regarding expanded gross margins attributed in part to pricing actions executed by Logitech's US subsidiary in April 2025.

The US Supreme Court ruled against the Trump administration's IEEPA tariffs in February, determining the president lacked the authority to impose them. Following the ruling, Logitech received $61 million through the government refund process. The lawsuit aims for a judgment forcing Logitech to distribute a share of these proceeds back to customers, arguing that the company was enriched twice over through both tariff-justified overcharges and the government refund.

Logitech joins several other tech companies, including Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, that have faced similar legal actions connected to tariff refunds. Meanwhile, PC cooling company Arctic announced plans to roll back US component prices earlier this month after securing its own refund.
