PG Connects Nordics Expands Beyond Mobile With PC, Console Focus
Pocket Gamer's flagship conference in Helsinki embraces multiplatform game development, with 64% of attendees working on PC/Mac and dedicated tracks for console gaming alongside mobile content.

PG Connects Nordics, traditionally associated with mobile gaming, is repositioning itself as a multiplatform industry event. The conference, taking place in Helsinki on October 20th and 21st, reflects a fundamental shift in how the games industry now operates.
Attendance data reveals the breadth of the audience: when asked which formats they focus on, an average of 64.25% of attendees work on PC/Mac, ahead of 61.42% for Android and 55.93% for iOS. Console development across PlayStation, Xbox and Switch accounts for 30.43% of attendee focus. This suggests the event functions as much as a PC games industry conference as a mobile one.
The reasoning behind this expansion reflects industry-wide convergence. Mobile gaming generated over $113bn in 2025, representing more than half of the global games revenue that surpassed $200bn for the first time. However, mobile has long grappled with challenges—live services, player acquisition, retention, monetisation, analytics and live ops—that are now central concerns for PC and console developers.
Many mobile developers and publishers are extending their output across multiple channels to maximise return on investment. A strategy known as Create Once, Publish Everywhere (COPE) allows developers to transfer lore, world building, art and level design across hardware platforms. This multiplatform approach has become widely adopted throughout the industry.
PG Connects Nordics reflects this reality through its programming. Across multiple stages and 22 conference tracks, over 150 expert speakers will lead seminars, panels and roundtables covering mobile, PC, console, AI, HTML5 and XR. Confirmed speakers include Colossal Order (Cities: Skylines) and Embark Studios (ARC Raiders). Recent editions have attracted attendees from major companies including Activision, Epic Games, Google, Netflix, Sumo Digital, Tencent Games and Unity.
A dedicated conference track called Big Screen Gaming provides seminars focused entirely on PC and console gaming, covering digital sales, esports, free-to-play revenue models, live streaming and cloud gaming. Indie developers receive dedicated attention through a PC + Console edition of the Big Indie Pitch competition, where developers pitch in five-minute sessions to judges.
The AI Gamechangers Summit, a partner event included with PG Connects Nordics tickets, extends the conversation around generative AI as an industry growth engine across all platforms.
