Next Xbox System Update to Bring Enhanced Dashboard and Local Save Control

Microsoft has revealed details regarding the planned October updates for Xbox, which are currently being tested by Xbox Insiders. According to recent reports, the upcoming features focus heavily on giving users increased control over their dashboard experience and local storage management.

Among the notable additions is the ability to easily manage the Recent Games and Apps list on the Home dashboard. Players can remove items using the Menu button or press the right thumbstick to fade the user interface away, allowing their immersive background to take center stage. Additionally, the update will allow users to delete unused local save files for individual games to help free up storage space.

Other improvements include enhancements to the wishlist feature, which will now automatically remove games once they are purchased. The update also introduces a system for viewing badges and displaying preferred ones, including a special Day One badge to celebrate users who participated when the Xbox One launched on November 22, 2013.

While these features are currently being put through their paces by Xbox Insiders, they are expected to roll out to the general public in the near future as part of the October update cycle.
