NEOGEO AES+ Delayed to September 2027 Due to High Demand and Supply Constraints

The upcoming NEOGEO AES+ console has officially been delayed. PLAION REPLAI announced that the hardware will now launch on September 16, 2027, as the company expands its manufacturing operations to meet unexpectedly high worldwide demand.

According to PLAION REPLAI, the postponement is necessary due to supply constraints that prevent them from manufacturing enough consoles for a global rollout by the previously promised launch date. The company stated on social media that it expressed gratitude to the community for the positive response, but ultimately decided to delay to avoid severely constrained availability.

Ben Jones, Commercial Director at PLAION REPLAI, explained in a press release that every alternative option was explored before making the decision. Jones noted that taking additional time enables the company to secure more memory chips and expand manufacturing operations. Had the system launched in November as initially anticipated, it would not have reached customers at the scale the community deserves.

Despite the delay, PLAION REPLAI confirmed that all existing pre-orders will be honored, and customers who have already pre-ordered will maintain their priority status in the production queue.
