Meta Launches Documentary Series Following NBA Star Draymond Green Through Therapy
Open Season, a new immersive documentary from Meta Presents, captures Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green in six unscripted therapy sessions during the 2025-26 season, shot in stereoscopic 3D for VR headsets.

Meta is launching Open Season, a documentary series that follows NBA player Draymond Green through real therapy sessions during the 2025-26 season with the Golden State Warriors. The series marks the first release under Meta's new Meta Presents banner for original immersive content.
Open Season captures six unscripted sessions between Green and sports psychologist Dr. Carrie Hastings at different points throughout the season. The four-time NBA champion discusses personal and professional pressures surrounding his basketball career as events unfold, rather than reflecting on them later.
The series was shot specifically for VR in stereoscopic 3D 180-degree video using Blackmagic URSA cameras. The camera perspective places viewers in the room alongside Green and Hastings during their conversations, creating an immersive experience designed for Meta Quest headsets.
Open Season is produced by Skydance Sports, Green's production company The New Media, and Meta. The series arrives September 29 through the TV app on Meta Quest. The release comes as Meta expands its immersive entertainment offerings, which now include 3D movies from Disney+, immersive sports broadcasts with 8K streaming and 180-degree views, and upcoming National Geographic: Beyond content. Meta VR Glasses are scheduled to arrive next spring, with the company emphasizing media consumption as a core use case.
