Meta reveals Muse Charm, a keychain-sized AI device

Meta revealed the Muse Charm at Meta Connect 2026, a keychain-sized device designed to give users portable access to Muse, the company's personal AI agent. Mark Zuckerberg presented the device as a surprise closing announcement, describing it as something that "packed the whole Muse experience, including the whole real-time voice and avatar stack into something that fits on a keychain."

The Charm activates through a fingerprint sensor located on its corner. Users can speak to the device after triggering this sensor. Zuckerberg acknowledged that some implementation details remain to be finalized, but Meta aims to ship the device in time for the 2026 holidays.

The Charm arrives in a market where previous attempts have struggled. Humane AI Pin, a competitor in the wearable AI space, ceased operations in February 2025. Meta's entry will face scrutiny as the industry watches whether the company can succeed where others have failed.

Meta Connect 2026 also featured the unveiling of Meta VR Glasses, which weigh less than 100 grams. The glasses offload computing power to a pocket-sized external puck to achieve their lightweight form factor.
