Genki Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for Manta Controller Featuring TMR Sticks and MantaOS

Gaming accessory brand Genki has introduced what it describes as its most ambitious project yet, launching a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for a feature-packed gamepad known as the Genki Manta. Aimed at the PC controller market, the device combines several high-end hardware specifications and unique design choices, positioning itself as a notable competitor in the contemporary hardware landscape.

The Genki Manta is equipped with a color display running its own dedicated operating system, MantaOS. The system allows users to customize profiles, connections, and fine-tune settings, alongside the ability to run custom applications. Hardware features include six extra mappable buttons, full gyro capabilities, trigger stops, and pulse buttons that sense full actuation travel to minimize input latency. Additionally, the controller utilizes TMR thumbsticks with adjustable tension, a feature previously seen on devices like the FlyDigi Vader 5S, and Maglev Haptics designed to deliver detailed feedback directly into the user's palms.

Among its standout additions is an on-the-fly keyboard and mouse (KBM) functionality, which allows users to navigate a PC directly from the controller. The Manta also features a unique physical shape that diverges from standard gamepad layouts. In terms of platform compatibility, the controller has quoted support for PC, Steam, Nintendo Switch (referred to as Switch 1 and 2), macOS, Android, iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro.

Pricing for the crowdfunding campaign starts at a Super Early Bird offer of $189 on Kickstarter. Promotional material indicates this reflects a discount off a higher estimated retail tier, bringing attention to the evolving cost expectations for premium, multi-platform gaming peripherals equipped with built-in displays and specialized operating systems.
