Electronic Arts has officially concluded its massive $55 billion sale to an investor group led by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. This transaction marks the largest leveraged buyout globally and stands as the second largest deal in the history of the gaming industry. Investors purchased shares of Electronic Arts at $210 each, valuing the entire company at $55 billion with approximately $20 billion borrowed for the transaction. Alongside the Saudi fund, other new stakeholders include Affinity Partners, which holds a 1.1 percent stake, and Silver Lake.

As a result of the completed transaction, Electronic Arts has returned to being a private company. It has officially delisted from the NASDAQ stock exchange after trading there for nearly four decades. The acquisition was initially announced in September 2025. Although the proposal sparked dissatisfaction among certain company employees and specific United States senators, the deal ultimately secured approval from shareholders, antitrust regulators, and the European Commission after a thorough review.

Reflecting on the completion of the sale, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson issued a statement about the transition. "We're entering this next chapter from a position of strength with partners who share our vision and ambition. Together, we'll invest boldly, accelerate innovation, and build the next generation of games and experiences for the hundreds of millions of players and fans who inspire us every day," Wilson commented.
