Danganronpa 2×2 Aims for January 2027 Release Date
Spike Chunsoft has announced that Danganronpa 2×2 is scheduled for release on January 14, 2027, bringing revamped visuals and multiple scenario modes to multiple platforms.

Spike Chunsoft has revealed a new release date for Danganronpa 2×2, setting the launch for January 14, 2027. A new trailer for the game was showcased during a Nintendo Direct, highlighting several mechanics and updates included in the remake.
The upcoming title features revamped visuals alongside two distinct paths: an Original story mode and a brand-new Slayhem scenario. According to the details provided, the Slayhem scenario introduces alternative storylines with new victims and culprits, as well as a mysterious new character. Both scenarios will be accessible right from the start of the game. While the original mode retains the classic narrative with updated graphics, the Slayhem mode incorporates gameplay mechanics such as Split Opinion—originally introduced in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony—and the new Akimbo Consensus mechanic.
This announcement follows an earlier delay disclosed by Spike Chunsoft back in July 2026 at Anime Expo 2026, where the title was pushed back from its initial 2026 launch window into early 2027. Danganronpa 2×2 is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Historically, the original release debuted on the PlayStation Portable in Japan before arriving worldwide across various systems, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices.
