Original Castlevania arrives free on iOS and Android

Konami has released the original Castlevania for iOS and Android devices as a free download. The 1986 NES platformer is now accessible to mobile players without charge.

The original Castlevania established the gothic action-platformer formula that would define the long-running franchise. Players control vampire hunter Simon Belmont through castle stages filled with classic monsters and challenging boss encounters. The NES version remains a foundational entry in both the Castlevania series and early console gaming history.

The mobile release brings the game to a wider audience beyond its original hardware. Konami has previously released classic titles on modern platforms as part of efforts to maintain player access to older games.

The free availability on both iOS and Android means the game is now accessible across major mobile ecosystems.
