Konami is releasing a playable demo of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on Nintendo Switch ahead of the game's full launch. The demo becomes available on October 1, giving players a chance to experience the early stages of the game before its October 15 release.

Save progress carries over from the demo to the full version, allowing players to continue their adventure without starting fresh. According to Konami, the demo will let players experience the "early stages of the game."

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse follows Trevor Belmont and his daughter Rose as they fight monstrous creatures in medieval Paris during 1499. Rose becomes entangled in a dark conspiracy as she and Trevor, armed with the legendary holy whip the Vampire Killer, work to save the city from devastation.

The game emphasizes responsive whip mechanics for combat and movement, letting players crack the whip to move freely like a trapeze artist before pouncing on enemies. Combat relies on mastering these whip controls in fast-paced encounters.

Players face legendary Castlevania bosses including Death, Medusa, and Carmilla, alongside new adversaries such as Joan of Arc. Defeating bosses seals them into Rose's tarot cards as Arcana, unlocking their skills for casting spells and performing unique special actions.

Customization plays a core role in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse. Rose can equip weapons from seven distinct categories and collect Relics that trigger offensive and defensive effects. Finding and combining different equipment pieces allows players to shape their own playstyle through exploration.

The game presents a reimagined take on Castlevania's gothic aesthetic with vivid, refined visuals. Maps blend new features with familiar elements inspired by classic Castlevania titles, exploring both iconic locations and fresh environments.

On Switch, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse runs at 30 frames per second and requires a minimum of 3GB of storage space to install.
