Capcom kicked off the Tokyo Game Show with a dedicated spotlight showcase detailing upcoming titles for Nintendo platforms. The broadcast featured a deep dive into Mega Man Dual Override, hosted by the game's director and producer. The title references its two playable heroes, Mega Man and Proto Man.

According to the developers, Mega Man functions as a balanced character capable of handling both close quarters and long range combat. Proto Man specializes in high damage and close range attacks, which the team stated makes playing each stage twice as fun. Each stage now features three distinct areas to allow gradual progression and expanded gameplay. Players can utilize over 50 custom chips to unlock various active and passive abilities for both heroes.

The recent showcase also highlighted Twinkle Girl, the first Robot Master introduced in the trailer. The development team designed the character to capture the satisfying essence of classic Mega Man gameplay, requiring players to learn specific attack patterns and rhythms. Additionally, players can trigger a new Override ability, which is a powerful move designed to turn the tide of battle and maintain momentum.

Capcom confirmed that Mega Man Dual Override is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027 for the Nintendo Switch and its successor console. The company stated that further news and updates will be shared closer to the release date.
