Call of Duty Partnership Expands Samsung Gaming Hub’s Role on TV

Samsung has expanded the role of its Samsung Gaming Hub by integrating a promotional partnership with Activision for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Call of Duty: NEXT directly into the interface.

Samsung has integrated a partnership with Activision into the Samsung Gaming Hub, utilizing the television interface to promote Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and broadcast related events. Ahead of the August 21 Call of Duty: NEXT showcase, Samsung placed a tune-in banner within the Gaming Hub masthead, enabling users to watch the event directly through the TV platform rather than navigating to a separate application.

While cloud gaming services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce NOW have formed the core of the Samsung Gaming Hub since its 2002 launch, the interface also features discovery tools and game recommendations. The recent campaign demonstrates how Samsung is leveraging its control of the primary screen interface before users select a streaming service. Alongside event viewing, the Gaming Hub surfaced details and code availability information for the Modern Warfare 4 Beta Early Access promotion, which ran from August 21 through August 25. Actual distribution of the beta codes took place via a separate Samsung Promotion app, and Samsung confirmed that while the Call of Duty: NEXT event could be watched on the Hub, the beta itself was not playable directly through the interface. A wider Open Beta for the title subsequently ran from August 28 to September 1.

The broader collaboration between Samsung and Activision also spans displays and audio products, incorporating hardware features such as HDR10+ GAMING and 32:9 ultrawide support. Observers note that this publisher-focused integration follows previous indicators of a strategic push, including a March job listing for a Strategic Partner Manager focused on publisher and developer relationships. Whether this level of masthead placement and promotional integration becomes a standard pattern for other major publishers on Samsung TVs remains to be seen as the platform evolves.
