YouTube announced a significant expansion to its creator tools, bringing A/B testing capabilities to full video uploads. The feature allows creators to upload up to three versions of the same video and test different hooks, segments, visuals, and editing approaches to determine what resonates most with their audience.

A/B testing for titles and thumbnails has been available since 2024, but this marks the first time creators can test entire video cuts. The functionality works across both long-form and short-form video content on the platform.

YouTube described the expansion as part of its effort to evolve YouTube Studio into "an end-to-end creative partner to help across production, packaging, and channel strategy." The company is simultaneously rolling out AI-powered tools to assist with editing, thumbnail generation, and publishing workflows.

Beyond A/B testing, YouTube introduced AI-assisted comment moderation that learns a creator's unique moderation style and preferences over time. Creators can enable or disable the feature at any point. The platform is also deploying AI to help automate what the company calls "tedious tasks" associated with uploading and publishing videos.

YouTube said the AI comment moderation feature works to shape a comment section that reflects a creator's community while freeing up time to focus on content creation.
