The Wolf Among Us Remastered Gets Official Release Date and 'Noir Mode'
The Wolf Among Us Remastered has received an official release date of October 29th, alongside a newly unveiled Noir Mode for Xbox platforms.
Telltale Games' celebrated narrative adventure is officially making its return. During Gamescom 2026 showcases, The Wolf Among Us Remastered received an official release date, confirming that the definitive edition of the title will launch on October 29th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
First revealed at Summer Game Fest, this new version of the Xbox 360-era classic has been rebuilt and refined for modern gaming platforms. Developers have packed the remaster with enhanced visuals, refined character and environment presentation, an updated user interface, upgraded animation and audio, higher resolutions, smoother performance, and over an hour of behind-the-scenes content. The release preserves the original title's choice-driven storytelling, mature detective drama, and unforgettable characters.
In addition to these audiovisual and technical updates, trailers have revealed a brand-new 'Noir Mode'. This optional presentation style allows players to experience the game in a striking black-and-white visual format that can be toggled on and off at any point during gameplay.
While pricing details and wishlist availability on the Xbox Store were not live at the time of writing, updates are expected soon. Meanwhile, development continues on The Wolf Among Us 2, which is currently targeting a release window in 2027. Based on Bill Willingham’s Eisner Award-winning FABLES comic series, the original narrative follows Bigby Wolf, the Sheriff of Fabletown, across five episodes as he investigates a grisly murder within a hidden community of fairy tale characters in 1980s Manhattan.
