Supercell and Duolingo have revealed a new crossover event which will see Brawl Stars fighter Spike and the language learning app mascot Duo appear across both apps. According to the announcement, the two characters are apparently beefing. As part of the crossover, Duo will take over Starr Park in Brawl Stars, while Spike will pop up in Duolingo lessons for the rest of September.
Duolingo is a gamified language learning app used by millions. AppMagic estimates suggest it has earned around $2.62 billion in in-app purchases since its launch 15 years ago, with $65 million generated in the last 30 days alone. Brawl Stars sits close behind, with AppMagic suggesting lifetime in-app purchase revenue of around $2.42 billion since 2018. It earned just shy of $16 million in the previous month.
In terms of reach, Brawl Stars has been downloaded an estimated 558 million times. Duolingo has more than double that total at around 1.14 billion downloads. The language learning app has previously run similar gaming crossover events, including collaborations with Genshin Impact in 2025 and Angry Birds in 2020.
