SEGA Randomly Announces Virtua Fighter For Xbox Game Pass In September

SEGA has unexpectedly announced that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is heading to Xbox Game Pass next month. Revealed as part of the Gamescom 2026 festivities, the title will arrive on the subscription service on September 10th. The announcement was shared via a "Producer Letter," which also noted that the game will launch on the Xbox PC platform presumably at the same time.

According to the producer statement, work continues on bringing Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage to Xbox PC, ensuring that the content and features match the versions available on other platforms. The title arrives on Xbox Series X|S as part of the pioneer 3D fighting series, building on the gameplay of Virtua Fighter 5 from the Xbox 360 days with several modern enhancements.

The updated edition includes rollback netcode and crossplay support to let players challenge opponents across the globe. Additionally, it features a brand-new single-player mode titled "World Stage," which tasks players with challenging powerful rivals on a solo quest to become the ultimate fighter. Enhanced replay functionality and improved training tools round out the package for the upcoming release.
