PUBG Mobile 4.6 Update Brings Midnight Hunters Mode, Ocean Odyssey Return, and September 9 Release Date

The upcoming PUBG Mobile 4.6 update is gearing up to deliver a substantial amount of new content, highlighted by a vampire-themed gameplay experience, seasonal events, Classic Mode adjustments, and the limited-time return of a popular past mode. Scheduled to launch on September 9, 2026, the update kicks off a new rollout cycle available through respective app stores, though availability may vary slightly depending on the player's platform and region.

At the center of version 4.6 is the new "Midnight Hunters" themed mode, which embraces a dark gothic atmosphere fitting for the Halloween season. Players will be able to step into the shoes of either a hunter or a vampire, utilize the ability to transform into a bat, wield chains, and battle various monsters. Alongside this mode, Bloodline Awakening faction battles are scheduled to take place every Friday through Sunday, with the first session slated for the September 18-20 weekend.

In a surprise announcement, PUBG Mobile has confirmed that the fan-favourite "Ocean Odyssey" themed mode—which originally debuted with Version 3.3—will make a limited-time return in October. While community demand has kept interest in the underwater mode high, an exact return date for October has not yet been specified.

Classic Mode is also receiving several functional updates. Firearm handling for 7.62mm weapons is set to see improvements, and the ACE32 is receiving enhanced attributes. Furthermore, a new water vehicle known as the Inflatable Boat is joining the roster to give players an alternative travel option across aquatic terrain during matches. Quality-of-life adjustments extend to matchmaking as well; if matchmaking takes longer than usual due to lower player counts on a chosen server, users can choose to expand their matchmaking range to find matches faster, though the game notes this may introduce higher latency.

Seasonal celebrations will span both September and October. A Mid-Autumn Festival experience arrives in September, allowing players to explore special areas, solve puzzles, and take photos. This will be followed by Halloween-themed gameplay featuring pumpkin candy boxes, candy collection, Trick or Treat activities, and free Halloween rewards. Additional cosmetic additions include Ultimate Sets, Gilt Sets, Royale Pass content, and Premium Crate rewards, alongside teased mystery IP collaborations and free items attainable through the Event Center, Card Collection System, Metro Royale Season, and regular matches.
