Pocket Worlds Acquires Mobile Social Game Hotel Hideaway
Pocket Worlds has acquired Hotel Hideaway from Finnish studio Sulake, expanding its player ecosystem to over 80 million registered users.

Pocket Worlds has officially announced the acquisition of Hotel Hideaway, a mobile-focused 3D social world originally created by the Finnish developer Sulake, known for Habbo Hotel. Since its launch in 2018, Hotel Hideaway has registered more than 32 million users and currently sustains approximately 300,000 monthly active players.
With this acquisition, Hotel Hideaway joins Pocket Worlds' existing portfolio of social worlds, which includes Highrise and Everskies. This move elevates the publisher's total collective player ecosystem to more than 80 million registered users. According to Anton Bernstein, CEO of Pocket Worlds, the company was drawn to the title because of its long-lasting community culture. Bernstein stated that Pocket Worlds plans to utilize its dedicated operating infrastructure, invest in core identity drivers like fashion, and help the game reach its next phase of growth.
Hotel Hideaway focuses heavily on fashion, collecting, status, and live community events. Pocket Worlds aims to bring its expertise in creator ecosystems, virtual economies, live operations, and community safety to the acquired game. Players of Hotel Hideaway have been assured that they can continue to play as usual. Pocket Worlds intends to share further transition details directly with the game's community in the coming weeks.
Jarkko Kouva, product director at Sulake, expressed pride in the team's work and confidence in the transition, noting that Pocket Worlds' deep understanding of social worlds, connection, and community makes them a strong partner to help Hotel Hideaway grow.
