Meta Launches AI Game Creation Tools for Mobile and Web, Announces 2027 VR Glasses
Meta unveiled Horizon Create and Horizon Studio at its Connect conference, letting creators build 2D and 3D games using text prompts on mobile and browsers. The company also revealed lightweight VR Glasses launching in Spring 2027 with day-one Unity

Meta has revealed two AI-powered game creation tools designed to simplify game development for creators without specialized skills or expensive hardware.
Announced at Meta Connect this week, Horizon Create targets mobile developers while Horizon Studio serves browser-based creators. Both platforms share a common backend, allowing assets, systems, and iteration history to transfer seamlessly between them.
Users describe their desired game through text prompts, and the Meta Horizon Engine generates a playable result. Games created with these tools can be published directly to Facebook and Instagram. "Traditional game development demands months of work, expensive hardware, and specialised skills," Meta said. "Horizon Create and Horizon Studio remove these barriers."
Selected creators are currently testing the applications through the Meta Horizon Creator Fund, which provides financial support. Early access will roll out gradually, with additional details on monetisation features coming later.
Meta also unveiled its long-awaited VR Glasses at the conference. The device weighs five times less than the Meta Quest 3, features a 5K infinite display using micro-OLED panels, and requires no straps or heavy external hardware. VR Glasses will support Unity from launch through Unity 6.6 via OpenXR, allowing developers to port existing Quest projects directly to the new platform.
Eight studios including Schell Games, Within, and Soul Assembly are already developing titles for VR Glasses using Unity. The device launches in Spring 2027 at $1,299.99.
