Alleged GTA 6 Playable Build Footage Leaks Online as Take-Two Moves to Remove Videos

A hacker group identifying itself as Cyberleek has published videos that appear to show a playable build of Grand Theft Auto 6, marking what could be Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive's most significant data breach since roughly 80 work-in-progress clips of the game leaked in 2022.

According to reporting from Rock Paper Shotgun, one clip shows a player flying a blue single-seater plane over what appears to be GTA 6's Vice City setting, pausing to change radio stations. A second segment reportedly shifts to footage of protagonist Jason firing a rifle at a wall, spelling out "Leek" in bullet holes — suggesting the group has access to an actual playable build rather than pre-rendered video files alone.

The videos were watermarked with a QR code and a call to purchase cryptocurrency. Cyberleek also published a manifesto framing the group as consumer rights activists, criticizing digital preorders, singleplayer DLC, and always-online game shutdowns. However, the organizers of the Stop Killing Games campaign have distanced themselves from the group, with Rock Paper Shotgun noting that the campaign characterized the manifesto as a ploy to drum up cryptocurrency donations by leveraging trending gamer sentiment.

Rockstar and Take-Two have not publicly commented on the leak, but clips posted to Reddit were being removed during the course of the original report's writing, suggesting active takedown efforts behind the scenes.

Assuming the footage is legitimate, the build in question is likely an older version of the game, though potentially a relatively complete one. As such, any inferences about the finished product should be treated with caution. The source also notes the possibility — however remote — that the footage could be fabricated.
