Gaming industry mergers and acquisitions reached their highest point since the third quarter of 2022, according to an analytics report covering the second quarter of 2026. Prepared by Aream & Co., the report shows that gaming-related companies completed or announced a total of 187 deals between April and June 2026. This represents a 16.2% increase compared to the previous year. However, the total value of these agreements decreased by 29% down to $7.1 billion.

During this three-month window, the industry recorded 54 M&A deals valued at a combined $2.3 billion, which is a 37.8% year-on-year decrease in monetary volume. The largest transaction of the period involved NeoPulse acquiring a stake in South Korean developer Wemade for $597 million. The second largest transaction was the sale of an 84.5% stake in publisher Playstack to the Integrated Media Company for $142 million.

Public offerings also experienced a surge in activity, reaching 25 issuances or announcements. This level of activity had not been seen since 2021. Despite the rise in volume, the monetary volume of public offerings dropped by 72% to $1.7 billion, driven largely by the initial public offering of marketing platform Liftoff, which raised $503 million.

Private investments remained steady at 108 deals, but total funding surged by 492% year-on-year to reach $3.1 billion. Artificial intelligence ventures drove the majority of this financial growth, accounting for two-thirds of all private funds raised. The single largest private investment went to AppsFlyer, which secured over $1 billion from contributors including Google, Unity, Meta, and Moloco.
