Gameloft shutting down Minion Rush after 13 years
The casual platformer will be removed from app stores on October 30, with servers closing January 29, 2027. Players can continue playing offline after shutdown.

Gameloft is closing Minion Rush, the long-running mobile platformer based on the Minions franchise. The game will be removed from app stores and have in-app purchases disabled on October 30, 2026, with servers shutting down on January 29, 2027.
Players who already have the game installed will be able to play online until the servers go offline, then continue playing in offline mode afterward. Gameloft confirmed there will be no further content updates in the game's final months.
A farewell event will run throughout October, and the developer said some prices and rewards "may be adjusted" during the final stretch. Gameloft did not specify reasons for the closure but stated in a FAQ: "Since its release in 2013, Minion Rush has been enjoyed by a dedicated community and we hope you had a lot of fun playing the game. Unfortunately, our run is indeed coming to an end. As the mobile gaming landscape continues to evolve, we have made the difficult decision to wind down our services on January 29, 2027."
According to AppMagic estimates, the casual platformer has been downloaded nearly 500 million times and generated over $45.7 million in revenue from in-app purchases during its 13-year lifespan.
