Flam, an artificial intelligence interactive content platform, has successfully raised $40 million in a Series B funding round. QED Investors led the investment, with participation from Claypond Capital, Martin Chavez, Olivier Pomel, Venky Harinarayan, Shahrukh Khan, and existing investors RTP Global and Dovetail. The newly acquired capital will be dedicated to research and development for Flam's AI models, expanding its product suite, and scaling enterprise sales globally.

Founder Shourya Agarwal stated that content has historically moved in waves from text to images to video, with every wave flowing one way from creator to viewer. Agarwal noted that interactivity is the next default for the internet and that the platform has made interactivity effortless to build and deploy at enterprise scale.

Flam currently holds more than 15 patents and ships three main formats. Flicks are interactive videos that switch people, products, or scenes mid-playback using a patented compression algorithm. Forge is an editing model that takes image references and modifies specified elements. Airboards deliver high-fidelity 3D content on a camera interface featuring touch, voice interactions, and haptic feedback without requiring an app installation. Additional components include Fable for image-to-video asset generation, Visual Agents for human-like video call conversations, Fantom for facial expression handling, Finesse for multilingual voice support, and Falcon as a 26 billion parameter mixture-of-experts large language model.

Over the past six quarters, Flam has signed more than 100 enterprise customers, including Google, State Farm, and Diageo. These entities utilize the platform for marketing, product visualization, learning and development, entertainment, fan engagement, customer support, and sales.

Nigel Morris, managing partner at QED Investors, stated that Flam stood out because it targeted an untouched portion of the content ecosystem rather than optimizing existing systems. Sandeep Patil, partner at QED Investors, added that the exceptional traction, rapid growth rate, pace of AI research, and high-profile partners justified the investment.
