Fandom has expanded its executive leadership team with the appointment of three new executives and the promotion of an internal veteran, signaling the company's shift toward social sharing and community-focused features.

Anita Butler joins as senior vice president of design and user research. Butler previously served as executive vice president of design and research at Nextdoor and held roles as vice president of consumer design at Twitter and chief design officer at Strava.

Damon Sicore has been appointed chief technology officer and head of Fandom Labs. Sicore brings more than two decades of experience in engineering leadership, including roles at Wikipedia and Mozilla where he led the engineering organization behind Firefox, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Peter Scanlon joins as chief marketing officer. Scanlon has held executive leadership positions at Google, Mozilla, and Monks.

Daniel Grunwell, a 15-year veteran at Fandom, has been promoted to senior vice president of engineering and will oversee the company's engineering and infrastructure teams.

Fandom CEO Jay Sullivan said the new team reflects the company's focus on consumer experience, platform technology, and fan engagement. "Daniel's long tenure at Fandom brings a deep understanding of our roots and what makes our communities special, while Damon, Pete and Anita bring new perspectives and deep consumer and platform expertise," Sullivan said in a statement.

Sullivan, who became CEO in February 2026, described Fandom's shift from a repository of wikis toward a platform where fans can express themselves and share enthusiasm. The company reaches approximately 300 million unique visitors per month and hosts more than 250,000 wikis. Sullivan said the new team will focus on building mobile, AI-assisted, and social experiences to help fans find communities, discuss intellectual property, and receive recommendations.

Fandom's gaming division manages the online video game retailer Fanatical, while Fandom Media oversees editorial and video content through brands including GameSpot, TV Guide, Metacritic, and Screen Junkies' Honest Trailers.
