Epic Games Sells ArtStation and Sketchfab to KitBash
Epic Games has divested both ArtStation and Sketchfab to KitBash so that the company can focus on Unreal Engine, the Epic Games Store, and Fortnite.

Epic Games has divested two major assets. The artist platform ArtStation and the 3D model publishing platform Sketchfab have both been acquired by KitBash. The financial terms and total amount of the deal remain undisclosed by the companies involved.
According to a press release issued by Epic Games, the decision to sell both platforms stems from a strategic shift to focus entirely on core business areas. The company stated that its primary interests moving forward are the ongoing development of the Unreal Engine, the growth of the Epic Games Store digital storefront, and the continuous operation of Fortnite.
Following the announcement, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney clarified on the social media platform X that the Fab marketplace, which launched two years ago, will stay under Epic Games management and is not part of the sale. Epic originally acquired ArtStation in April 2021 and purchased Sketchfab three months later in July 2021. Financial figures for those original acquisitions were also kept private.
