DON'T NOD, the French developer behind Remember Me and the original Life Is Strange, faces an uncertain future as its financial situation deteriorates. The studio reported a €4.3 million loss in the first half of 2026 despite generating €6.1 million in revenue, according to financial disclosures released this week.

The losses represent a continuation of DON'T NOD's financial struggles. The studio posted a €2 million loss in H1 2025, followed by a €10.3 million loss in the second half of that year. By the end of July 2026, DON'T NOD had depleted its reserves to €8 million, leaving the studio with only months of operational runway.

According to available financial projections, DON'T NOD's continuation beyond January 31, 2027 is no longer guaranteed. The studio's survival now depends on securing outside financing. In response to the crisis, DON'T NOD has begun implementing severe cost-cutting measures. The studio will henceforth develop only one game at a time, eliminating parallel project development. Additionally, significant layoffs are under consideration, potentially affecting roughly 90 employees—approximately half of the studio's current workforce, which has already shrunk from around 320 employees in 2022.
