CD Projekt Sets 2028 Release Target for The Witcher 4

CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 4 is currently targeting a release window in 2028, according to joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski.

CD Projekt Red has announced its official release target for the highly anticipated role-playing game, The Witcher 4. In a video posted on social media ahead of Gamescom, joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski shared a rare development update regarding the future of the franchise, revealing that the studio plans to launch the title in 2028.

“The Witcher 4 is targeting a 2028 release window,” Nowakowski stated in the video message. “I know it’s a bit of a wait and you’d love to play it sooner, but let the team cook. It will be worth the wait.”

The announcement also highlighted additional franchise plans leading up to the flagship sequel. The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past is set to be fully unveiled at Gamescom Opening Night Live, with a scheduled launch in 2027. Following the first glimpse of The Witcher 4 at The Game Awards 2025 and a subsequent Unreal Engine 5 tech demo, fans can now look forward to further official details arriving from next year onward as development continues.
